About Ft. Rucker
A U.S. Army post founded in Dale County, Alabama, Fort Rucker was built in 1942. It has been in use ever since and has a deep history. The post was named for a Confederate General from the Civil War named Edmund Rucker. It’s one of ten different U.S. Arms installations named for generals from the Confederate side of the Civil War.
Three entrances into Ft. Rucker are found from the bordering cities of Enterprise, Ozark, and Daleville. It’s also home to the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence and the U.S. Army Aviation Museum.
